(FREMONT) - A friendly wager between two local fire departments is now paid in full, with photo evidence to prove it.
Members of the Orland Fire Department traveled to Fremont on Saturday to make good on a bet with the Fremont Fire Department following the WLKI 100.3 FM Pie Auction fundraiser for the Shop with a Cop program.
The agreement between the departments called for the losing crew to wash the winning department's lead fire engine, while wearing swim trunks. At noon, Orland firefighters arrived in Fremont and completed the task.
Afterward, firefighters from both departments shared a meal and spent time together reflecting on the event.
Both departments are vital partners each year in the WLKI Pie Auction and help raise thousands of dollars for local children.
