INDIANAPOLIS (WLKI)- Governor Mike Braun has appointed Mitch Frazier to lead the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
Frazier will become IEDC president October 5, replacing Josh Richardson, who will leave the role October 2 for a private-sector position.
Frazier currently serves as president of IBJ Media. He previously led AgriNovus Indiana and Reynolds Farm Equipment and earlier worked as the IEDC's director of media relations during the administration of former Governor Mitch Daniels.
The IEDC is the state agency responsible for attracting business investment, supporting Indiana companies and assembling incentive packages for economic development projects.
Frazier will report to Indiana Commerce Secretary Chuck Goodrich, who oversees the IEDC and other state commerce agencies.
Braun said Frazier brings experience in business and public service to the position. Richardson had served as IEDC president for about 11 months.
