AKRON (WLKI)- Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation has announced a tentative agreement that would provide raises for teachers during the 2026-27 school year.

Superintendent Blaine Conley presented the proposal during a special board meeting Monday, following negotiations between the Board of School Trustees and the Tippecanoe Valley Classroom Teachers' Association.

Teachers with bachelor's degrees would receive increases ranging from $1,000 to $1,200, depending on their years of experience. Teachers with master's degrees would receive raises ranging from $1,300 to $1,600.

Under the proposal, teachers with bachelor's degrees at the top of the salary schedule would receive a $750 stipend. Teachers with master's degrees at the top of the scale would receive a $1,100 stipend.

Teachers eligible for a lane change on the salary schedule would receive that adjustment. Teachers who earned a reading literacy endorsement would receive an additional $200 added to their base salary.

The proposed range for teacher base salaries is $46,000 to $81,500.

Conley thanked the teachers' association and the school board for what he described as positive negotiations. The special meeting was held to meet state requirements for publicly presenting a tentative teacher agreement.

According to Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation, the agreement remains tentative.
