SR 8 Accident In DeKalb County Injures Three

DEKALB COUNTY - An accident injured three people on Wednesday, July 26 evening in DeKalb County.
Just after 6 p.m. Robert Mills, 45, of Butler was stopped in his white 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 facing northbound on S.R. 101 at the intersection of S.R. 8 in DeKalb County.
Mills said his accelerator malfunctioned and began to force him to enter the intersection. He attempted to use his break but was unsuccessful.
A brown 2008 Chevrolet Uplander driven by Glen Cook, 71, of Newville was driving west bound on S.R. 8 and entered the intersection of S.R. 8 and S.R. 101.
Cook’s vehicle struck Mill’s vehicle at a right angle on the bed/rear cab.
Mills suffered rib pain and a small laceration to his right arm.
Cook suffered injuries to his head and back and his passenger Crystal Cook, 59, of Newville suffered a laceration to head, back pain and cuts and scrapes.
Both vehicles were considered total losses.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Southeast Fire Department, Parkview EMS and Riverside Towing.
