NE Indiana Unemployment Drops From February To March

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The unemployment rate around Northeast Indiana dropped from February to March
According to The Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the biggest drop was in Noble County, going from 4.1% to 3.1%.
Steuben County saw their unemployment go from 4.4% to 3.5%. LaGrange County had a decrease of 3.8% to 3% while Elkhart County dropped from 4.5% to 3.6%. DeKalb County went from 3.9% to 3.1% over the month.
Statewide, the unemployment rate dropped from 4.5% to 3.4%.
The lowest unemployment in the Hoosier State for March was Union County, dropping from 3.2% in February to 2.4% in March. Howard County had the highest unemployment in Indiana at 5.7%, down from 7.1% in February.
Northern Indiana cities also saw a drop in their unemployment from February to March. Elkhart decreased from 5.4% to 4.2%. Goshen dropped from 4.7% to 3.7% and Fort Wayne went from 4.3% to 3.3%.
