Good Times Horticulture Company 10/12/23
Thursday, October 12, 2023
Good Times Horticulture Company's Kelley Remington joins WLKI's Andy St. John to tell us there's still a little time left to plant, this season.
6 weeks before the first hard freeze is the closing window for planting. And in our region, that first hard freeze 'generally' happens in early December.
Don't put away the hose away, yet.
Don't fertilize landscape plants this time of year.
Hold off pruning evergreens and a majority of shrubs until early Spring.
Celebrate Fall and Fall Planting. The soil temperature is advantageous for root growth. Your plants can get cozied in, prior to Winter. And that results in less stress on the plants, compared to Spring planting.
With tree planting weather upon us, stop in to Good Times and see the huge selection of Maples, Oaks and Redbuds.
Consult the good folks at Good Times to point you in the right direction for plant selections, as well as landscape design, landscape installation, and landscape performance.
