(ANGOLA) – The City of Angola has a new Economic Development and Planning Director.

Mayor David Martin says effective June 9, Retha Hicks will be appointed to the position. In her new role, Hicks will be responsible for developing and implementing Angola’s economic development initiatives, and will also oversee the office of the Angola City Planner and Angola’s Community Coordinator.

Hicks began her career with the City in 2003, and has held increasing roles of responsibility. Her experience includes working in the office of Economic Development and Planning for over seven years. Most recently she has served as the Executive Assistant to the Mayor.

During Hicks’ career with Angola, Martin says she has developed a strong and effective working relationship with all community leaders which makes her ideally suited to her new position. Martin says Hicks has in depth knowledge of the City operations and possesses a keen sense of public service with customer driven results.
